Yeah, Todd… That is the MAC list I referred to…..

Is there a Windows fix list? Or, did I miss something obvious?

Thanks Peter. Unfortunately, due to other issues, I’ll be sticking to CS6, but it’s good to know that CS7 will address this issue..

So there is no way to do the timecode as requested?
I am familiar with the Timecode effect…. I’ve used that in the past…. Ain’t it fun trying to appease client?

    More information…. CS6 not CC

Not Avid related. PPRO only.. I believe Client wants this as a “Keeper” take selection, so that he can watch a DVD Or BR from his hotel room and pre-select the in and out points from the Keeper takes…
I know I can burn in TC on each source clip, and that is my fall back solution, but the client prefers clean video so he’s not trying to look past the burnin….

Say you have 2 clips one with 2 hour TC, second with 0 hour TC.

Want the TC of PPRO Program monitor to track source clip’s TC… I understand TC will Jump….

September 3, 2013 at 11:55 pm in reply to: Random Frame in Transcode???

I encountered something similar to that a few years ago….
About 40 seconds from the scene that contained that video, one frame of that video popped up in an altogether different scene… Just one frame.

I finally re-edited the piece putting the scenes in a different order and it re-appeared….in a new spot.

I re-captured the footage again and it did it again….

I then Re-captured the footage a 3rd time, and this time I patched the output of VTR (which had a TBC) into a frame sync. THAT WORKED…

So, based on the fact that a Frame Sync hid the issue, I then stepped through the video on the capture that caused the errant frame issue, and there was a very subtle shift in the video at that point… which I surmised as some sort of timebase error. Further tests with this capture that would glitch proved it was something related to that shift, as, I could hide it by putting a background color wipe (it was a silhouette scene) over the left side of the video, a couple frames before the shift, ending a couple frames after. This also masked the problem with the scene.

I’ve only seen this twice. (The VTR is now long dead).

Try and find the frame in the clip, and look for a subtle horizontal shift.

I was surprised by Adobe’s very impressive bugfix in V6.0.4, and was even more so by the speed of V6.0.5 repair.

I must say I’m really impressed with Adobe regarding CS6 products.

    My $.02
