Hi,

Why not ask them to upgrade to FCP 5.04 minimum. That upgrade could offset the cost of the deck rental and the time needed to spend in the suite digitizing the footage.

Sometimes it requires a little finesse to get them to understand that it will take them alot more time to use tape and their edit suite will not be as efficient.

But then you know this last point.

Hi,

The fact that there are four memory sites within a P2 card on a Raid 0 array controlling Metadata, parity checking and plain old data management, the SDHC by it self is not going to work.

And Noah, there are two alternative sources for P2 cards, Maxell and FujiFilm.

Hi Neal,

The HVX205A is a Japanese Domestic model with no warranty in the US. Warranty is in Japan. Lots of promises can be made on the part of the HVX205 about it having a Manufacturers warranty here, but they just are not valid.

Have you tried transferring via the USB port? Also are you just offloading the cards to the computer’s drive? Are you using a helper program like P2CMS or P2 Shotput? If not you should be.

And there is a menu item where you have to choose 480i as your output if you are looking to do a downconvert and send to a SD monitor.

Hi guys,

The E series cards can record DV/DVCPRO without an issue. It is only in the special recording modes on the spanned clips an issue arises. Additionall in the VFR modes in 720P the 12 and 15 rates represent an issue. Avoid these and you will be fine. There will be an udate for all the cameras, shortly. The HPX170/HVX200 are up on Pass aready, might even be on the main Japanese support site. The HPX300 firmware will be upgraded in July along with the Flash Band Compensation.

Glad you got the card working, the download you did, probaly added a bit to the convesation between the card and the computer letting it know that it was a different kind of P2 card, but a P2 card all the same.

Hi,

Yes the ACM-17 works to convert the 1/3″ mount ot a 2/3″ mount. The magnifaction factor for 2/3″ lenses is 1.8x.

4:2:0 means you have color info on every other line. 4:2:2 means color on every line. Color resolution is better in 4:2:2. And Intra-Frame will help, but the bigger influence will be color resolution.

Well, not sure how it happened but the DV50_422 is a standard def clip and the DV100_720P clip is HD. You do have 2 different formats. How you get both onto the same timeline, I don’t know, perhaps one of the FCP guys can chime in here.
