Within the Panasonic Application(I assume P2CMS) there is a way for you to look at the metada which would tell what format they are and then that might be the answer to your question. But someone would have had to try hard to change the camera to a different format.

It does seem odd that they work on the Avid and not the FCP, but I am not the expert on either edit platforms. Hopefully some of the other guys here can chime in.

Hi,

The files for the 200, 170 and 500 are not interchangeable with the 300. In fact they are not intercahangeable within themselves, only the camera that is set up for the fill will be able to work with it. That said, a different version of the same camera, like an HPX505 can use the files but only once they have been modified to work with your camera, i.e. the header information needs to change.

That said the HPX300 files should be going up this week.

Actually there will be a program released shortly on Nat Geo that was shot on the HPX2000(the brother to the 2700), HPX170 and the HVX200. I think that content is still the king at Nat Geo. This program is on the Grizzlies. And the HPX3700 does do VFR below 30P.

This is not a massive problem, it is a problem and can be fixed quickly and easily. I see that you are in Florida, you can find a service center by going to this page https://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-electronics/support
At the bottom of the frame there is a box that asks for zip cod and model number it will bring up a servicer near you.

Keep in mind that if this were a problem on alll of the cameras it would be a huge problem and we would be repairing close to 60,000 cameras. That is not the case. Why some break and others don’t, could say why, but it happens.

But do the search and send it in. This is basically what you will be told at NAB.

There is a Panasonic service center in LA on Cahuenga Blvd, West. You should take it there if you are in LA, they have a couple of excellent service guys there.

If you are not in LA, all you need to do is to go to our website, https://www.panasonic.com, click on support, then find servier, type in the model number and your zip code and there will be the three closest servicers to you.

YOu should figure out how to not use the the AJA capture board, and have it do the capture through firewire. The AJA board capture will turn your footage into 50Hz material, which I assume it is not. There used to be an easy setup for DVCPRO HD in the setup menus.

Other than that not sure I can help more but you really do not want to do what the machine is set up to do, you need to set it up to a 1394 capture.

Hi,

It is my understanding that when the F900 is in 23.98, the only signal on the out put possible is 23.98. The P2 Portable does not recognize this signal as it would have to be those 24 frames in a 2:3 or 2:3:3:2 pulldown to be recognized, refer to Jeremy’s earlier post on what the P2 Portable records. This is why the EX-1 has no problem, it outputs a 29.97 stream. (it can be switched to just 23.98 but that is a menu decision.)

So the short of this is that you will need to get the AJ-HPM110 to record to AVC-Intra, just the 23.98 from an F900.
