  • Why is the HPG-10 slow as heck transfering P2 cards?

Posted by Matt Steeves on June 12, 2009 at 4:40 pm

Every time I use Firewire 400 on the HPG-10 to transfer cards to either my laptop or mac pro it takes forever. For example, over 1 hour for a 16gb card where as my other card readers average a gig a minute. USB isn’t any better.

    Any thoughts?

None really, other than to say that yes, that is mighty slow, and you say that this is via Firewire AND USB? hmmm….

I wish I had one of these to play with and figure out, but I don’t. I wonder if there is some factory default to set it to or something. Some way to reset it and “smack it” back to life.

Have you tried transferring via the USB port? Also are you just offloading the cards to the computer’s drive? Are you using a helper program like P2CMS or P2 Shotput? If not you should be.

    Hope that helps,
