Hi, John.
Thanks so much for that. I forgot to mention that the footage will already have been captured to an external drive for transfer onto my internal, so capturing won’t be an issue at all.
Many thanks for the link to VideoCopilot, too. Andrew Kramer is a genius!

May 21, 2008 at 11:39 am in reply to: Exporting to Tape from Premier Pro 2.0 – Problem. Thanks, Mike. I’ve checked all of the menus and there is nothing there for DV settings. It’s bizarre that this has worked perfectly before but is refusing to this time…

Thanks,
I’ve tried reinstalling, but to no avail, and I’m pretty sure it’s not the demo version. I’ve a horrible feeling it’s because I deleted some Premiere Pro preview files, as before that, there was no problem…

Funnily enough, I did the exact same thing at the capture stage of a short film I’m editing at the moment.
It came about by missing a text box whilst batch capturing and hitting ‘a’ at some point, which, unfortunately, changes the capture settings to ‘audio only’ (as does ‘v’ for video only). This wasn’t noticed for a while, and so a lot of clips were captured in audio format only. I had exactly the same problems as yourself with regards to changing the capture settings (which seems impossible, a ridiculous oversight on Adobe’s part, surely, considering it’s so easy to inadvertantly change them in the first place).
It took forever to find a way of remedying this, and I eventually found it on the Adobe forums, by which time I’d recaptured everything anyway and so didn’t try it out and now, would you believe, can’t find that particular topic on said forum. I’ll keep trying to locate it though, and will let you know if/when I do. If I can’t please accept my apologies in advance…
Good luck in the meantime!

Thanks so much to you both for the help. I’m getting the sequence ever more effective as a result.

I don’t use my hotmail account for e-mail, but I can send you my usual e-mail addy by messenger, or whatever.

I am kind of au fait with AE, but would like to clarify a couple of things, if that’s ok.
Firstly, this is being presented in a widescreen (PAL) format, as it is to be shown in several cinema’s aroud the UK, so what kind of size and arrangement would you suggest for the composition i.e a 10×10 square grid, or would this be something that would be a matter of seeing what looks best?
The lips will be appearing in the centre of the square of other blocks, so it’ll just be these blocks that I’d like to have settle into red, rather than just create the boxes in the shape of a lip, if you get what I mean. Would I be right in thinking that each 3d box should be a layer of it’s own over a background? Is there a quick way ot create 100 that you know of? Copy and paste, perhaps?
Finally, I have never created a camera in AE before. Is this a simple process?
Sorry for the bombardment of questions, but I’d like to be more sure of what I’m doing before I start messing about and getting it all wrong!
thanks again,

November 13, 2005 at 10:52 pm in reply to: Frustration trying to create a grid of glowing coloured squares. Agh!!!I am using AE 6.5 alongside Premiere Pro 1.5 and Photoshop CS/Illustrator CS. I have looked long and hard for an easier way to do this without pestering people on the Internet, but to no avail, which is why I have had to resort to this.
Apologies for the bump, if that is what this may be seen as, but any input would be appreciated.
Thanks again,
Jamie…..
