What d’ya mean by don’t know what to do ?

The recommended system specifications have been available for a number of weeks now and were posted here quite recently too 🙂

The only change has been that the GTX285 has gone EOL so the official spec card is currently the 4800 (Although some resellers still have the GTX285 available)

The new MacPros won’t make much difference as Resolve is a CUDA GPU based application – therefore 12 cores instead of 8 won’t do much apart from speed up render times a fraction.

The new card rumours are still just that, and the ATI cards mentioned wont make any difference as they’re not CUDA…

Apologies for any misunderstanding, and I’m going to get this changed shortly, but it’s referring to the delivery time once the product is available.

Slight hiccup with our web interfacing with the backend system.

Feel free to give me a call/mail for more info Jack

“I hadn’t heard of anyone buy a DaVinci for years and years, almost 15”

Just finished installing a new Resolve R4 system at Nordisk in Oslo.

Interest is coming in from all over the world for the new systems….

I heard a quote for a baselight upgrade the other day that came out as twice the $$$ as an R4-3D system

It will be down to the owners of the codecs to write the port to Linux. Unsure if there’s been conversations with Phantom & Arri but, as has been said here numerous times, its pretty unlikely apple will port ProRes to linux

FYI – there is some command line stuff you can do to enable/disable the second card (Hence me saying FCS and Resolve can work together – although why would you use color when running resolve?)

Linux version only works with DaVinci panels, yes 🙂

    Hi Jack,

Yes it was the GTX285 in the roadshow machines.

Sadly this card is now going EOL, but we do have most of the remaining UK stock. After those are gone it’ll be 4800 only until NVidia decide if they’ll be refreshing their mid-range cards.

    Cheers

    Jamie

    Hi Michael,

Glad you (and the other users here) had a good experience on Friday, in answer to your questions:

Yes, the ultrascopes are a seperate system that runs on a number of qualified systems. It comes with the software and SDI card, then you add a qualified machine and 1920×1200 DVI monitor.

The GTX285 will work fine with your FCP system.

If you’d like prices or any more information for any of the above feel free to contact me directly on either jamie at jigsaw24.com or davinci at jigsaw24.com

    Hi Ola…

You will require 2 GFX cards in the system for optimal performance.

1 x GT120 to run your GUI displays

    1 x GTX285 or FX4800 for GPU power
