Posted by Mika Joon on June 10, 2010 at 1:58 amHello There
is there an update to the exact release date of Resolve for Mac yet?
at NAB I was told early July, is that still the case?
I just can’t wait to get started with it

June 13, 2010 at 11:43 amThere’s a roadshow across Europe at the moment, but I’m sure once it’s released local specialist resellers will be able to organise demos for you

Which is what people want , I assume.
Try out if it runs on their MBPs and stuff.
Well, i preordered mine already…I´ll let you know asap. -

June 14, 2010 at 12:18 pmI’ve also pre-ordered, and by the looks of it (from a video I found on these forums) I need at least a GeForce GT120, and for that, I need at least a Mac Pro 2009 model. Mine is early 2008, so I’ll need to get a new Mac to get DaVinci up and running in the first place. I don’t mind, I just wish there was some specifications and system requirements on their website so we can plan ahead and get what we need and be ready to install the software from day one!

June 14, 2010 at 3:12 pmHi Ola…
You will require 2 GFX cards in the system for optimal performance.
1 x GT120 to run your GUI displays
1 x GTX285 or FX4800 for GPU power

June 14, 2010 at 9:21 pmWill I be able to run resolve on a 8 core 3.0 ghz 2008 mac pro?
Do I really need a new computer to run resolve? Do you foresee a problem with an earlier 2008 8 core machine?
There are a lot of us gearing up for this release, we need to know what type of computer is the minimum requirement
I would understand if a MacBook laptop wouldn’t be sufficient but an early model 8 core tower?
Thanks in advance -

June 14, 2010 at 11:13 pmIF you dont want to waste money, wait till its out. At that time you will have a list of whats official from blackmagic.
At most it will be a week delay, if the spec are out on a monday, you can order everything and have it friday. Otherwise your taking a gamble as to what will officially work.

June 15, 2010 at 6:25 pmYeah….I’m going to wait a few months after release date – let some other fools beta test it, work out any wrinkles in “official” hardware support vs what really works best in the real world etc….

Do not use Color unless you have a compatible video I/O device and broadcast monitor.
