Thanks. I am now running Final Cut Pro 5.1.2, and OS X 10.4.8.
I ran the deinstall included with the 5.7.2 package first.
With the new 5.7.2 drivers I have to click in the “Deck” window
in Blackmagic Deck Control for a preview of the video capture via component.
This was not required with the 5.6.2 drivers.
Is this normal behaviour?

And on top of all that…Apple probably uses something a lot more exotic and costly than Compressor 2.1

Same problem here on G5 1.8 DP (Rev A, PCI-X model) and Decklink SP.
Reverted to 5.6.2 and back to normal.

I use the M-Audio Revolution 5.1 PCI card in my Dual 1.8 GHz G5 with FCP 5.1.1 and once you set up the output channels within your timeline (and in sequence settings) it works just fine.

You need to use the Beta 1.1.1 driver with this card as they don’t have a driver specific to OS X 10.4.6.

Also export OMF from FCP will take you audio out as it appears iin your timeline to an external 5.1 editor (I use Bias Deck 3.5.3).

It should be noted that these are only for installations from CD.
They do not work with the “try and buy versions”. Why not?

The accompanying BCC patch release notes.pdf with the instructions for
installation are pretty strange,,,yes? Caps lock up, caps lock down etc.
