February 28, 2013 at 4:17 am in reply to: Vegas 12 Pro – How to join (Not “group” clips)ah, the 4x max ctl drag dilemma… got it. Yeah, so you have to go with the velocity envelope in a nested veg as far as I can see. Should work though.

February 28, 2013 at 12:58 am in reply to: Vegas 12 Pro – How to join (Not “group” clips)Steve, how many events are we talking about? Granted, using velocity envelope on a nested veg would require placing keyframes at the start and end of each change in velocity. If you start at the beginning you would have to work your way down the timeline as the cuts would be moving with each new keyframe.
But you could do the same thing in your original timeline. Turn ripple edit on. Start at the beginning and just ctrl drag each of the fast events to the desired speed. In the time it takes to follow this thread you could be finished… lol… what am I missing?

February 27, 2013 at 10:33 pm in reply to: Vegas 12 Pro – How to join (Not “group” clips)Maybe I missed part of this conversation… (you have two posts going here)… but why can’t you simply nest the veg with all your clips into another project and use velocity envelope to speed up just the parts you want?

Can’t help with the reason you got subclips all of a sudden. BUT, if you group the entire set of subclips, you can ctrl drag the whole bunch to whatever speed you want them and all your pancrop and effects will shrink with them.

February 27, 2013 at 4:43 am in reply to: Last Session Did Not Complete Properly – duh, really?Steve, I do believe I am running as an admin… I’m the only user of this PC and it has no other accounts…though I’m not sure I to tell.
I did the ctl shift start and said yes to the reset and vegas opened with the usual “Last session did not complete properly” message. So I went into the hidden preferences and did not see any folders that were not available. When I quit and restarted I did not see the message. So maybe it finally lost whatever flag it was seeing.
Thanks for the link to that little ctl-s utility… that will be very helpful… I’ll never lose more that a minutes worth of work again.

February 27, 2013 at 1:11 am in reply to: Final newbie question of the day – saving imagesHmmm, maybe you didn’t save the clip at the spot you plan to transition from? Else, try changing to Best FullScreen preview mode before saving, and check pan crop that the image is the same aspect as the project/video. I’ve had this problem before but I can’t reproduce it now…. but it should be an easy fix.

Not sure how you can simply “turn on” rotation… doesn’t work that way. You could create an event with your image that you want to rotate. Go into pan crop and create a keyframe at the far right end of the clip, rotate that image 360 degrees. then render just that event to the timeline. Then you can drag the event for as long as you want and it will just keep spinning… you might have to experiment with rotation – depending on the speed of rotation, maybe just rotate 359 degrees so that first bit does not stutter.
Now if you need your object to have a transparent background then you’re talking about rendering with alpha channel or use chromokey to drop out background.

I’m assuming this is a 2d object and you want to spin it along the z axis? I’d use pan crop and just drag it around as many times as you want… not sure what John is referring to under track motion, but I tried it and could clock many more than 10 revolutions in pan crop.

Sorry I can’t answer your question, but can comment that I’ve been less than impressed with BCC8 corner pin or match move unless you’ve got footage that’s perfect. Just curious, are you doing this for grins or are you seriously trying to make something look realistic? Seems like a tall order – I’d like to see your results. Good luck.
