Yep, the difference is between full and legal ranges. If you’d use legal range in Resolve, then it will look the same.. ish in FCP…
But if you want to preserve the full range, then I think you have to use RGB processing in FCP instead of YUV, which, I think, is limited to legal range.

Yeah, all this ability to write Prores on Win and Linux is fine and dandy, unless you realize, that you still ned to do two renders- first to something like DPX and then to Prores. There are no apps now, that utilize this newfound ability to write prores. And don’t forget, that as of right now, Prores writing is only command line affair, i.e just an academic exercise until Apple gets hold of whoever trying to do this:-)
On the Smoke and Resolve on the same machine business, I’d been running this for over a year. Yes, there is no need for Kona and just use DVI output and you can have 23.98 output, if you monitor supports it. The only thing is you need to keep moving DVI cables between GPUs. Resolve wants you to keep GUI plugged into GT120 and every other software wants to use GTX 295 or whatever you have. Not a deal breaker, but is a pain in the arse…

It was a great feature and it is puzzling as to why it was removed. On the same note, Lustre does this very well with CP-100 panel:-)

Am I the only one who sees the irony, where the “Batch copy” actually means the opposite- batch removing Master session grades from the timeline , i.e Un-copy?
And how about being able to see the offline copy while doing resizing. Trying to copy geometry with stills is silly and time consuming. And how about knocking off the PTRZ name and calling in in good plain English for what it is- geometry, sizing, re-sizing etc. Anything, but PTZR…

I had been using GTX 285 MacVidCard for over a year and there is no difference whatsoever between MacVidCard and a standard Mac version.

There is a reason why Speedgrade couldn’t continue as a stand alone company. I’m no a big fan of the interface in it’s present form, it’s grading capabilities are pretty pedestrian and so far, we haven’t heard a word about possible multi GPU support, and panel support.
Adobe would have to introduce more compelling features, than just renaming the Speedgrade application and including it in the Adobe suite to get Resolve users to switch…

Do you mean incorporate Moca into Speedgrade, the way Moca is incorporated in AE?:-) It’ll be peachy, as in evry time you need track shape, you need to use an external app-Moca, export tracking info and finally import that info into the Speedgrade?

You will have more understanding on RedUser.
This is very partisan, pro Resolve crowd. Hence the name of the thread:-)
You will not receive fair hearing here…

  • Nothing but conjectures, misinformation, general lack of knowledge and experience. Sorry, nothing personal, but you should try sometimes to just listen and be a little less partisan and at least try to see the bigger picture…
