    Thanks.

No if there were only an un-damage tv filter to fix old TV videos that exhibit this level of damage :^)

The MOVs that I see playback glitching in QT10 are using H264 codec. The same MOV plays cleanly in QTPro7. These are MOVs exported from M100 Suite 2.1.

Here’s an example from this morning. The top image is QT10, the bottom is QTPro7. Both players using the same H264 MOV file. QTPro7 does not exhibit the playback glitches that I frequently see with QT10 playback.

I had inexplicable font problems when using 10.6.7. It wasn’t limited to Media100/RED though, all apps were affected. When we upgraded to 10.7.2, the problem resolved itself and all fonts (at least those uses so far) are available & working again.

I have noticed that the new QuickTime player (10.1) isn’t as solid as the old QuickTimePro 7.6.6. Some MOVs playback with random glitches in 10 than never appear when using Pro7. I wonder if that explains some random glitches I continue to see in M100 title track renders.

I stayed at 10.6.7 for the same reason, old m100 codec projects. But when 10.7.2 was green-lighted by Boris, I upgraded.

We moved from dual G5 systems to the 12-core MacPros, there a definite speed improvement. I can’t compare 12-core to 8-core MacPros.

Ok. I used Apple’s GRAB utility to get some screen snapshots. I added a comp clip to the M100 timeline. Jumped into RED 5.1.3.577 and added one MOV track. I tried the colour picker with TRITONE, LINEAR COLOUR KEY and BRICK. All yielded the same random results.

Note: The GRAB utility shows an arrow pointer when it does the capture rather than the eye-dropper pointer that RED actually displays. I also closed the EYE on the filter track so I could sample the unaltered background.

FWIW, I downloaded the 64bit version too. Colour picker works in the 64bit version but not the 32bit version that I need for use with the Media100 Suite2.1.

The 32bit version also still exhibits problems with still image aspect ratios. My default is square pixels on import. Usually looks fine in RED but it squashes horizontally when jumping back to Media100 to render. Jumping back in/out of RED sometimes fixes it or flipping the aspect ratio settings for the image around. Sometimes it works fine the first time out of the gate.

I’ll grab a screen shot today. I tried using the tritone filter yesterday. Select the colour picker, hover over the colour I want in the monitor window but it just cycles through random colours, as in earlier versions.

Does the latest RED update support Media100? M100 isn’t listed in the RED5.1.3 download options.

    When did this start happening?

Was Media100 working ok with OSX10.7.3 previously? I’ve only gone as far as 10.7.2.

Are you able to use time machine to go back to a known period of Media100 functionality?
