Your first question is one that I have been asking myself for a long time. For the second question you can use the up and down arrows.

The original file was a 25 fps 1080i 10 bits uncompressed HD file. The H264 file is 203 MB with a length of 2.48 minutes

I sometimes had a problem where the SDI output of the DVCPRO 50 deck would output lower field first. Problem couldn’t be fixed so I used the RGB output which gave upper field first.

Reinstalled AE but now to a different folder. Everything works. Moved the plug ins to the new folder. Work too. Now I only hope that the other problem won’t pop up again

When you drag footage to the project window you have to scroll to the right in the project window and put a check mark under the ‘anamorphic’ sign
