with 6 cameras you would set up a 3 X 3 grid, good for up to 9 cameras, in your multicam viewer. I work this way most of the time and it works fine.

Since Apple already held an NDA preview at NAB, bringing up the possibility that they’re going to drop X is absurd if not dishonest.

FS55 for studio work, recorded onto KiPros as ProRes 422. Canon 300 and various DSLR for field segments. I generally conform all my source material to ProRes before cutting – old hobbits die hard.

Temporary solution: turn off this setting “Composite Preview During Trim” – this refers to an option in the”wrench” menu in the timeline.

My system is getting tweaked right now so I haven’t tried it yet. Give it a shot and let me know.

This is definitely not fun. I see we are both running 15.2 – are you on El Capitan as well? Since I upgraded to both at the same time I’m not sure if it’s an Adobe problem or an OSX problem. I sent a message to Izotope when this first happened but they said nobody else has reported this problem. Well now we have two cases. I’m going to post this on the Adobe site as well and see what happens.

If your trying to run multicam off a single SSD your gonna have big trouble. Drive speed is crucial to proper running any kind of multicam, and your hitting it with long gop 4K codecs – any drive speed less than 500MB/s is gonna be a big problem. You either need to buy a high speed raid for your media files or work with the new Proxy workflow of the latest version of Ppro.

Make sure the “nesting” tool, the first tool on the left at the top of your timeline is turned on – if it’s off you get all the individual layers of the imported sequence, if it’s on you get a nest on one layer of your timeline, and a multiclip source is a form of nested timeline.

I’ll tell you what’s a PITA in Ppro – that while you can save presets for EFX, especially video EFX, there is no way to save presets, or defaults, for video transitions. I have certain video transitions that are part of the look of the show and I have to go in and tweak every parameter every time — grrrr, makes me think of switching to X ….

I’m KIDDING! 🙂

Can’t seem to do it with the effects that come with premiere, but can definitely do it with third party VST plug-ins. This company makes a batch of free audio plug-ins as a come on to get you to purchase their larger set of plug ins – their compressor is better than what comes with Ppro and you can save pre-sets inside of Ppro.
