Premiere cc 2015.3 Multi-cam How to increase speed?
Hey folks!
I’ve always had a difficult time w Multicam on Premiere. It tends to be shall we say fairly poky to refresh. I’ve had similar speed issues with just 3-4 cams at 1080. Also had similar speed with the older CC2015, and just CC as well. I’ve tried even dropping down render to 1/8 as well, but it seesm to be slow.

If your trying to run multicam off a single SSD your gonna have big trouble. Drive speed is crucial to proper running any kind of multicam, and your hitting it with long gop 4K codecs – any drive speed less than 500MB/s is gonna be a big problem. You either need to buy a high speed raid for your media files or work with the new Proxy workflow of the latest version of Ppro.

I just started investigating what was going on w the proxies, and i was using them incorrectly. I did a test last night, and BOOM! Smooth like buttah. But I was thinking if I was using native, I’d need a raid. Or at least split up the media on different SSDs.
Kinda silly as I have about 4 SSDs on my machine already, but each dedicated to something, like programs, cache, OS, and media.
