Our setup is to export a .mov from avid then use sorenson squeeze to create the dvd files. There are only two options within squeeze to create the dvd audio. MPEG Layer 2 and MPEG PCM. Neither of those is in the supported audio file formats listed on the encore support site. Do we need to use Premiere to re-encode, because currently we are not using it for editing.

I receive a file from our editor who uses Sorenson squeeze to encode the file. the audio settings are as follows:
    Codec: MPEG Layer 2 Audio
    Data Rate: 192
    Sample size: 16
    sample rate: 48000
    channels: stereo

There is no error and the disc shows up as blank in Explorer. It just doesn’t do anything.

Hello fellow RIT alum 🙂 The clip looks good, the next thing to try might be a version that is non-transparent/floating blocks but to make it black in between like a real rubik’s.

    Good work!

You could try the stretch setting. In your timeline window near the bottom there are some arrows to the left of the slider that resizes the timeline (version6.5). If you click the arrows you get four columns In, Out, Duration, Stretch. Just up the stretch value but typing in a number more than 100% or put your mouse over the number and click and drag to the right to increase.

Just FYI this will change the aspect ratio of your picture to fill the entire comp so there may be some stretching or squishing.

  • I believe if you start in Photoshop and go File> open> navigate to your illustrator file and open it through photoshop it should preserve the transparency.

I would take a screenshot of a comp with the title safe grid on > crop in photoshop > reimport it as a top layer of your movie (opacity brought down) or key out the black.
