Sounds like you used the text with a solid color background instead of a transparent background.

Did you load any other software during the time period? If not perhaps try to re-install Vegas. That might work.

Make sure you didn’t select wma instead of wmv. Check that you didn’t mute your video tracks.

You have to have your friend transfer the license to you if you want to purchase an upgrade. The transfer is free.

If your video is running but the applied FXs are not doing anything check your preview and make sure you are not doing a bypass.

I use the DeArtifact plug-in with Vegas Pro 8 but I noticed that the line looked dead. However, the price was right and it paid for itself on the very first project I used it on.

I am not being a smart a$$ here but you don’t ever have to buy a training video. You buy a training video to shortcut the learning process and jump start using a product. What you expect from a training manual is another story.

I use it and have created a couple of logos with it, The latest version provides better quality as well. Worth the money.
