Good feedback. I realise that I need a G-5 for more rubber on the road but for now, I’m paying the rent with the ol G4 and I’m hoping I can soup it up enuf to learn Motion basics to increase graphics productivity.

What software do you recommend for the backup copy? I’ve wondered if this wouuld be the next step.

btw, I went back a third time and removed all files listed in the above doc, then reinstalled fcp 3 (these are all upgrades to fcp3) and tried each one in turn. 3 started ok. But 4 wouldn’t fire nor would 4.5.

Yep,
I still want Graemme’s software for future jobs, but we were under the gun to ship ship ship and none of the sixty dvd’s came back from numerous European destinations. Made me nervous as has heck, but no returns, or complaints in 9 months.

Would that also work on a fw800 external… say, put fcp4.5 on the external and run 5 on the internal system drive?

Is the upgrade OS 10.3.7 to Tiger w/ fcphd4.5 recommended for G4 dual 1.25?

and just to be clear, keep QT 6.5.2 (assuming this is optimum for fcp 4.5)?
