Yep. same way I’ve always done it.

Haven’t tried this yet. I will test this however. Thank You!

No but I did try placing the droplet of the encoded file into the DVDSP sequence (track) and it worked!
By the way, when examening this droplet, apple+I, the file size seemed appropriate, approx 2.7gb. Its just confusing why a droplet appears and not the usual mpeg2 file. When I click on the droplet, it starts asking for web or network access (I’ve forgotten which).

    Shane,
Made two encodes after trashing compressor prefs with the digigorilla and no change in results.
Trashed them again, restarted the computer, tried a short encode to test and still got the droplet, an example of which is attached above.

    any suggestions???

    thanks,
    Hal

Also.. in the same job I tossed in the Dolby audio encoding that’s listed next to the video mpg2. It went to the desktop just fine.

    Thanks, Shane for quick response!
Not doing anything differently than I’ve ever done.
Loading the job window in compressor with destination to desktop, best 90 minute video encoding from the preset list….. hit submit.

the fcp timelline is defined by in and out. nothing different or special.

also… yesterday I used compressor to encode some H.264 quick time clips for a client’s website. no problem.

    tnx again,
    Hal

Thanks, Dave for your response. Unfortunately I’m not grasping your full intent here. I’m not an expert user of this camera, so I only know what I’d like to get out of it, but don’t know how yet.
I’m fine with sony cams, panasonic is new to me.
Do I have to do anything other than just connect a four pin to four pin (into my dsr-11) and press record on the deck? I rent these cams, so don’t have one at the moment to test. Thanks.

    Thanks for your response.
I managed to get the 2 second version to work as an imported movie.. exported from ppt as a movie… (I have MS office on the Mac) the 5 second version must have been too big. and now later in the timeline, I’m getting “out of memory” message in big red box… I’ve never gotten this before until I tried importing this blasted ppt file. (I was time remapping a short clip).

Any idea what’s going on? or should I just forget using this ppt movie? as you said, its difficult.

My gear: G-4 dual 1.25, 2 gb memory os 10.3.9

    tnx

Ooooops, I said OK, because your instructions were clear and I’ve done similar QTC a zillion times……….but never AVI…. I have fcp 4.5 and it aint on my options list! Am I blind or is just not in 4.5?
