I thought I knew how to do this but I disconvered nix…. So, I’ve got a .ppt slide show with 2,3,4, and 5 second transitions as seperate files. How do I get them as jpg or whatever so I can use in fcp 4.5? I tried the export as movie and when I put it in its own sequence, I couldn’t scale the time line down to reasonable limits (couldn’t zoom out from closest perspective). If I double clicked on the imported .mov, error message that I was out of memory. There must be a better way???? I used to tell clients to export their ppt as jpg and I got cd’s with jpgs. but this one isn’t working.

    tnx

I’ve read and re-read your post several times and I cannot figure out what your trouble is but I have not use 4.5 for a couple of years. No clue why your timeline cannot be scaled or what you mean by “seperate [sic] files” for your “transitions.”

Bringing in ppt as a movie is next to impossible so don’t even bother trying unless you have the Macintosh version of Office or can convert to QT via Keynote.

If you bring the jpegs in as separate items, you can easily manipulate them for length, effects, motion and apply all kinds of transitions. There are no tricks to this so if your system is not accepting the jpegs you may have other, for more weird, issues.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”

    Thanks for your response.
I managed to get the 2 second version to work as an imported movie.. exported from ppt as a movie… (I have MS office on the Mac) the 5 second version must have been too big. and now later in the timeline, I’m getting “out of memory” message in big red box… I’ve never gotten this before until I tried importing this blasted ppt file. (I was time remapping a short clip).

Any idea what’s going on? or should I just forget using this ppt movie? as you said, its difficult.

My gear: G-4 dual 1.25, 2 gb memory os 10.3.9

    tnx
