I think being able to have the grading project backed up with all the rest of the assets is great, but I also stick to the DB method since it also proved slow for me.

The way it works is so inconvenient… A Tab would make it much easier. -
Hi Nedeem: how would you do this?
I jump to Master session and the grades are not there properly.
Furthermore, sometimes the shot may be minutes long…The problem is creating a timeline with handles goes crazy, won’t keep the grades and has proven completely useless.
Any thoughts? I’m having hard times when dealing with handles!

I am working on the latest iMac, 16GB, 2GB for the Radeon, Pegasus Raid, Ultrastudio 3D to an Aja HDP2 to view the result on an HP Dreamcolor.
I’m happy for the setup because I don’t have to work with clients.
16 nodes on Alexa footage render at some 12 fps, which is not bad.I miss the denoise but after having waited for a new MacPro too long I bought the iMac some months ago and I’m not regretting at all.
It’s not the same as a full workstation, not at all, but I’d rather spend the money on a good monitor and the control panel, once you have this go for the MacPro if you can, but if you have to sacrifice something… the MacPro is the less important.

November 17, 2011 at 11:14 am in reply to: DaVinci Resolve Lite 8.1.1 released with unlimited nodes and DNxHD includedThat’s the point.
I’ve always been a hardcore AJA fan, and I wouldn’t have ever switched to BM if it wasn’t for DaVinci.
BM did the right move and they’re taking over the pro market, now they’re perceived as “pro” and not “prosumer” as before. -
Thanks very much Joshua.
Updating the diver did calm the fan down.
The fan is still a bit noisy, I mean it doesn’t only make the whirl of the air moving through but a bit of an electric noise…
Anyway it got a bit better with the software update, thanks!

Thanks Barrie.
Avid Artist Color is not the panel to have with Resolve, I’m realizing.
Wave is ugly, cheap looking and huge… But fairly optimized and much more customizable.
MC color is beautiful. That’s it.
Who’s fault is it, Blackmagic or Avid?

October 25, 2011 at 8:28 am in reply to: Comparing Resolve performance with GTX 285, 470, 480 and Quadra 6000Thanks for sharing!!
Could you post the same results with a not-modded GPU?
I mean any option aproved by Apple, I’m running a Quadro 4000 and I’m really disappointed, I was wondering whether GTX470 would perform much better. What OS are you using?
Thanks again.

I’m dealing with the same issue.
Tried adjusting the sensitivity but Resolve seems to work with the momentum, not the real movement of the balls… really annoying!
