from app to app, and sometimes even font to font, numeric values of sizes vary. It’s hard to say “18” is your legal limit in an NLE’s titler or that “6” is in PS. The bottom line is ya gotta look at it in titlesafe on an NTSC monitor. I have this hyothetical size etched in memory but if you don’t hop up, walk ten feet away and read it.

If you are open to HDV, it’s really hard to go wrong with Sony’s FX1.
I have kicked the dog out of this camera for the last to years. It takes a lickin’ and keeps on tickin’. I even commit the capital sin of using it to playback everything recorded on it. It’s more than worth the asking price…which is totally in yor budget.
It’s amall enough to carry it o a plane.. even a puddle jumper if you stuff it in a dufflebag insead of a camera case. It’s unoptrusive enough that you can walk up oa stranger for a sound bite and not get a deer in the headlights look. It’s user friendly enough that youdon’t have to always tote a light kit… it eats light like candy and you can store presets galore for all kinds of conditions, quickly pick your fav and tweek the iris a needed. I rely on this camera heavily and it makes me look good over and over again.
It gets two thumbs up from me.

May 11, 2007 at 9:44 pm in reply to: Keyframe bug??

I’ve noticed it as an inconsistant bug.
Working through other buggage, I think I have isolated these to the BCC effects. namely, glow. Sometimes it’ll let me copy/paiste keyfrmes, other times it doesn’t want to. Just like the fake render bug, I can close the bin that holds the sequence and reopen it ad it’ll start working again.
Getting away from randomness, I think (think) that this only happens when I copy keyframes using a BCC effect, then edit a non-BCC effect (not using buffers) and then hoping back into a BCC effect and trying to paiste the attributes I thought were still in the buffer.
It just hasn’t been consistant enough to troubleshoot properly.
    …for me, anyway.
I have noticed no difference in this from version 2.5 to 2.7.

You may be overthinking it. You shouldn’t have to pimp yourself to a dude your already working for. State your desire new salary and let em call ya what they want.

I have had good luck selcting the high quality 8000kbs constant bit rate/dolby sound default and reducing it to 7000kbs.

  • were you maybe using the blue override arrow? I don’t honestly remember if this is what that does. Like insert with the transistions?
    I don’t use it so I forget.

    what? no sale?

  • you can trim that clip or the one(s) next to it.
You can also shif click mutiple clips and move em together.
You can also set an in and an out, hilight all yer clips and cut or add filler.
Another quicky is to just hit the dissolve button over the dissolve you wanna keep, override/drag that clip where ya need it and the Avid will remeber that dissolves duration so all ya gotta do is hit dissolve then enter.

well I hear this is the most stable version of avid ever.
Try uninstalling again, reboot then reinstall again.
You’ll find there is still randomness.
