May 10, 2007 at 8:20 amwell I hear this is the most stable version of avid ever.
Try uninstalling again, reboot then reinstall again.
You’ll find there is still randomness.

May 10, 2007 at 9:42 pmYeah, I tried that a few times then dropped back down to 2.6.4 which now works again.
I may give 2.7 one last shot before just waiting for a future release.
Best,
D

I’m sorry you’re running into trouble. I hope you do realize that running an unsuppored configuration will save you money, but give you countless headaches as you’re seeing now. My suggestion is to follow the readme pdf file that comes with the software and follow the configuration requirements. Also, the 980 is not supported in 2.7, you may be able to use a console command “legacyoverlay on” to help playback performace once the system is configured and you’re able to launch. This should allow you to continue to use the 980 without having to upgrade the graphics card.Readme: https://www.avid.com/content/10539/README_AvidMediaComposer.pdf
Windows Optimation file: https://www.avid.com/onlineSupport/supportcontent.asp?contentID=7913
Hope this was actually helpful.

May 17, 2007 at 3:32 pmThanks Todd,
For now I have just rolled back to 2.6.4, Hadn’t been able to get past the software hanging up on load setup. I tried legacy overlay mode, but still didn’t boot up.
Thanks for the suggestions
Best,
D
