try 1:1
basicly avid is compressing that file at dv25 as it is right now. Thats not only a 5:1 compression but a 4:1:1 color space as well. No good for grafix.

check your media settings for import. Maybe you have em at DV25 or something.

Alternativly, yu can jut crash record it and play your time line

did you selct 4:3 in your preferencs? You can thn select apply to all clips.

ON your first question, have you tried just dragging? -
not to confuse the issue but 720X540 with a square pixel import works too.
My point is it’s just better to start with a full sized render. -
keep in mind that you actually lose quality doing this. Going from DV back to DV remains a clone. Going to an analog forma steps down a generation.
That said, ya gotta give em whats requested. -

Do a quick search fo post-production boutiqe and see what pops up.
There are many ideas to pick from out there. I have foun a phat pool table in the lobby to eventually be a waiste and have also fon ya can’t go wrong with a big screen and some halo action. lol
Of course at least one lava lamp is required in any new studio.
