    A cruel joke by Avid.
You have to do a video mixdown of your entire sequence and export that as a reference.
This simply kills when exporting a 90 minute 1:1 show.
Shame on em for advertising the ease of authoring with adrenaline.

you really need external scopes but as Joe mentioned you can use the scopes in the video input tool while capturing.
DV25 is 5:1 compression in a 4:1:1 color space. It is not an online quality but it is aired everyday. “broadcast quality” is a relative term as 4th generation vhs is broadcasted. Doesn’t make it pretty… just makes it a matter of opinion as to what is aired. To me it depnds on only the sunbject matter but each network has their own set of rules.

your best bet is to just animate them seperately.

You’ll be surprised. Depending on action, I get away with about every ten frames or so. I set the first keyframe then the last, then one in the middle and start subdeviding it as needed. This way, I only have keyframes where I really need em. Now, you can track your mask if you have a certain point, There are just seldom certain points for this, at least with this tracker.

June 30, 2007 at 3:48 pm in reply to: RE-USING DVCAM and DigiBETA tapes?

I once had a supervisor that spent millions on gear then wanted to save dimes on tape by reusing digibeta masters. I wanted to smack him in the head. Nothing like a nice digital drop out on a 9th layer preread while recording the event. Skimping on the cheapest comodity in the business is pretty wacky to me. Sell em, toss em or use em for dub stock. They are no longer master material and unless the project is a bare bones or a favor… I wouldn’t shoot on used tape either.

use a defocus effect (found in resize) then nest an animatte effect over it. Draw your design shape or just use the corcle tool, feather it’s edge a bit then set keyframes to match the action.

export a freeze of the building to photoshop, disect the building as needed then animate those pieces as needed in AE or in the Avid itself. As mentioned, this’ll take some time. It may be better to just offer a quick dissolve depending on your circumstances.
This is a several thousand dollar transition if done right. Added cheeze to the program if not done right. Clever wipage may save the day.
