make ure you monitor with a waveform monitor and vectorscope. Dont go drivin’ blind. You do have to adhere to 7.5 ire for black and 100 for white. As far as the red, as long a it isn’t outside the corcle on the scope, your ok.
Lay down a minute of bars and tone, 8 seconds of slate, 2 seconds of black and start the spot at 1:00:00:00.
    It’s duration should be 29:20.

when I view reels for consideration, I look for their ability to edit, typography and graphics and if like what I see I ask em how long a look took em and on what software. Creativity has to b evident from the get-go… starting with the label/packaging. I need people who can finsh a show… mix audio, have a good for design and who are fast. My turn around time per project is usually less than a day. It otta look good but it has to go out by a certain time.
Your reel must state all of these things in 30 seconds… that you are capable, creative, different and well worh your asking price.

I mean if you do, it’ll look nappy.
    as you have found out.
Every Avid editor needs AE. At least until they upgrade their DVE. No need to think that’ll be anytime soon. It’s basicly the same one released in ’95.

you can’t use avid’s DVE to zoom in on images. You can try pan and scan if you like but you’ll have best results just using after effects.
Avid still leans heavily in after effects as it’s DVE is still mid 90’s technology.

you sure it’s not just when ya play? Does it go back to normal when you pause?
This happens on every adrenaline I have been on. Just part of the big downgrade.

there is no default. An 8 fram audio dissolve in one place simply wont work on all. I edit according to the event at hand.
I’d go with cuts visually for dialog.

but agin, are you looking at playback on an ntsc monitor?
Also, if they lay off to digibeta, you won’t have uncompresse files as Dbeta compresses at 2:1.

lay your fill on v3, your matte on v4, apply a matte key. You will most likely have to then invert that key, depending on how it was created.
