blur/cover effect
Hello:
I’m working on the Adrenaline.
I have a clip of a man on a gurney and his “private parts”
are not covered. I need to blur this small part of the clip.
It is a moving shot … he is being wheeled from his home to
the ambulance. What I need is like a small circle, with a somewhat
opaque fill, to cover him, as he moves.
What would this effect be on the Adrenaline?
And is there an easier way to do it besides using a hundred keyframes as the shot moves?

use a defocus effect (found in resize) then nest an animatte effect over it. Draw your design shape or just use the corcle tool, feather it’s edge a bit then set keyframes to match the action.

If you have an Adrenaline you should have the Boris Continuum Complete (BCC) set of plugins (they come with an Adrenaline purchase).
Look for the Boris Witness Protection plugin. It’ll blur what you want and has a pretty decent motion tracker. Use it to blur the privates and motion track it–then you’ll just have to set a few keyframes to correct it if it goes astray.

You’ll be surprised. Depending on action, I get away with about every ten frames or so. I set the first keyframe then the last, then one in the middle and start subdeviding it as needed. This way, I only have keyframes where I really need em. Now, you can track your mask if you have a certain point, There are just seldom certain points for this, at least with this tracker.

The Adrenaline I’m working on is at work. I haven’t noticed any Boris effects in the palatte. But thanks for the info.

If you are on Adrenaline, you can use the paint effect in one step. Apply paint effect, create a shape around the section you want to blur. The default is a red colored fill, go to the effects window and use the pulldown to get to blur. Here you can adjust the amount of blur you want. (Hint, the less the better as it draws less attention). Now feather the edges a lot to further smooth out the move.
Doesn’t Adrenaline have the tracking from the Symphony now? If not, add a keyframe every time the movement stops, starts or changes direction. The feathered edges will help a lot in hiding this.
