Confidence is ingredient one. It’s required because your job is to take something somebody paid a lot of money and time to shoot and throw it on the cutting room floor over and over again.
The ability to see the finished show when the client walks in with opening remarks is the kay to being a story-teller. If you can’t see the end of the story before you start, your gonna mess it up. This is where the confidence comes in. No hesitation.

you can use spot color but I like to throw it on a second layer and nest an animatte effect as I have more controls. I like to color correct with genarts sapphire’s film effect so I gravitate this way.

the halos may bug you when driving at night or if you ever shoot in a night club with neons but you’ll not see halos on your monitors. You’ll have massive eye sstrain for a while. editing with shades helps emmensly. You may just keep doing this after your eyes adjust just cuz ya look cool.

You can colorize it all ya want with a stacked effect.If you are doing this without a keyable source, it’s gonna be maddening. Animatte would work but you will have more handles with animated masks in AE.
