Masked Colour Correction
Hi,
I’m using Media Composer 3 and have a question about colour correction. When shooting, we used ND filters that changed certain parts of the image brown. Most significantly, the costumes of our leads have gone from green to brown and from blue to very dark.
Please correct me if I’m wrong but I am thinking that a masked colour correction would be the best way to fix this problem. By this I mean drawing a mask within which I can select a certain midtone to be changed. (ie from brown back to green)
When simply matching colour and replacing in the colour correction toolset skin tones, hair and some background changed colour too dramaticaly.
My question is, if this is the best way to go about a solution, which program or plug-in should I use to do this? I have ‘After Effects’ but cant use it very well yet, the ‘Magic Bullet’ plug-in for Avid and ‘Color’.
Any help would be much appriciated.
