Is there a place that rents the Terranex upconverter? It sounds like the way to go for upconverting.

    Thanks,

When I put the genlock to free run it fixed the problem. I do have a K-Box. Thanks for the advice.

Based on my experience and I’m sure Bob will back me on this, you can’t have the AJA IO and DSR-11 DVCAM deck on at the same time. This get a little annoying ,but I bought a Firewire A/B switch that lets me push a button to choose either the AJA IO or DSR-11 deck so I don’t have to keep switching cables. A company called Sign Video makes the box. Once you get used to it, it’s not that bad.

The workaround for the AJA IO is that you turn off you overlays(Timecode,etc.). I have not found a work around for the Kona yet.

I called AJA and they said to reinstall Final Cut Pro 5. I deleted everything that was related to Final Cut Pro and when I reinstalled it I had video.

I always digitize in smaller chunks. Try batch capturing your clip in 10 to 15minute segments.

The timecode on the tapes are fine. I checked my settings in the Kona Preferences and they seem fine. It’s really weird. I’ve never encountered this problem before. Could it be a deck setting?

You got me…Actually it was a pretty weird problem. I fixed the problem by going into the Kona capture setting and bringing the gain up on the audio input. I’ve never had this problem before but it worked. I wonder if it has anything to do with Quicktime 7? Thanks anyways Bob.

How did you do this? I tried this and all I get is a blue screen. Any advice?

Learned something new. I had no idea about the archive thing. Thanks AJA.
