Trying to digitize 55:00 show, but the capture keeps stopping at around 49:00. It doesn’t abort; FCP/Kona2 thinks it’s done, but the capture is short. I’ve tried this a few times and it’s pretty consistent – any body have any ideas before I start calling folks?

You might have a timecode break and FCP is calculating the duration as 49 instead of 55. I have had this happen to me in 4.5.

Happened on 2 seperate masters on 2 different machines, so I’m confident it isn’t a time code break.
The Video file is 19.94 Gigs, and audio is 894 Megs, so possibly it could be a file limit to 20 Gigs. I can’t find anything in FCP 5 that limits overall file size – I wonder if it could be a QT7 issue?

I always digitize in smaller chunks. Try batch capturing your clip in 10 to 15minute segments.

[Bill Portune] “The Video file is 19.94 Gigs, and audio is 894 Megs”

    Are capturing A/V separately?
Sounds like that could be a part of the problem.

Thank’s Ron, that was indeed the problem!

I’ve been capturing A/V separately so that when I use MediaManager to trim down my media the A files don’t end up with V at the same time…
