I just installed Final Cut Pro 5 with the updated IO drivers and I am not getting a video signal out. When I switch to digitize mode I am getting video but not when I’m just playing from the timeline. Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions?

I had the same problem. I deleted my FCP preferences and every thing was fine.

    Hope that helps

I called AJA and they said to reinstall Final Cut Pro 5. I deleted everything that was related to Final Cut Pro and when I reinstalled it I had video.

I recently had bizarre FCP issues on a system. I went to the Apple Support site, and typed in “uninstall Final Cut Pro”. I printed this out, and spent 20 minutes deleting EVERY DAMN folder it said (there is no uninstall for FCP). I then reinstalled FCP 4.5 (HD), and everything started to work.
What was the problem ? Got me !!!! I guess you had the same thing.

Image Rocks just had an XServe RAID issue – the bottom line (no matter what the problem was), was they flashed the XServe RAID firmware, updated the OS (to OS-X 10.3.9, they are not on Tiger) and the problems went away.

MORAL – do your updates and reinstall when things don’t work.

I had the same issue of no video to the NTSC monitor, plus the additional problem of synch being shot to hell. In my case, I have the AJA I/O box. A call to AJA tech support told me to uninstall everything FCP and reinstall which indeed solved the problem, that is until I also repopulated my plugin folder with my collection of plugins. Same exact issue reared it’s head again. Figuring that the plugins were the suspect I uninstalled and reinstalled yet again and one by one inserted my plugins into the plugins folder. All of them worked fine until I inserted the Automatic Duck plugins at which time the synch and external video issues came back. Removing the Duck plugins solved the problem.
