How did you go about downloading it? Doesn’t show up under Mac Store Updates nor the Software update.

Check to see if you have any high resolution stills, grey scale graphics, or weird formatted media. I ran into the same problem on an hour long doc and the culprit was a very large still.

What’s really funny is that the FCPX Apple website says this:
Video generators
Open the Generators Browser to access a range of automatically generated video elements — including animated backgrounds, countdowns, bars and tone, and varied textures. Just drag and drop to add them to your project.
Interesting

That’s a great FAQ and all. It’s still a deal breaker for me that I can’t and won’t be able to import my Final Cut 7 Projects. I’m going to stick with Final Cut 7 and when the time comes that Final Cut 7 doesn’t work for me anymore I’ll turn to whatever software will be able to open my old projects.(I can even open my FCP projects in Adobe Premiere!) For a ‘Revolutionary’ piece of software, Apple was pretty shortsighted to not include this functionality in Final Cut Pro X or as I like to call it Final Cut Express X.

Thanks. When I click on the link, it comes up with nothing.

The only issue I’ve found with this is that while it works fine when you use your mouse to trim back and forth, the source/record goes away if you want to trim frame by frame with the arrow keys. This makes it kind of worthless for what I use it for.

Just from my limited poking around. These are the things I use on a daily basis that I could not find:
1. Can’t open a previous FCP project.
2. Can’t export OMF
3. Can’t resize Timecode Window.
4. Can’t import or Export XMLFrom what I can tell it’s Imovie with some bells and whistles added. This is by no means a pro application. I’m actually not sure who will use this. Maybe film students, but I can’t imagine anyone with a company that relies on Professional level software using this. I guess for a 1.0 release it’s not bad. Hopefully they’ll add all the good stuff back in for the pro user. We’ll enough playing. Need to get back to paying work on the old FCP 7.
