Awesome! I knew AJA would come through. Downloading now and will give a try.

I’m a big AJA fan. I’m sure AJA is working hard trying to get the CS6 driver out. I’m just getting really impatient. I’ve had to resort to using Final Cut Pro 7 with a project because I need the Client to be able to view the edit.

May 30, 2012 at 12:24 am in reply to: FCPX 10.04 stable for you?

I gave up on trying to edit. On both my systems all my media plays very choppy and stutters. Video output through my Aja is very buggy still. This is on top of my distaste for a lot of the other issues I was having with FCPX. I’ve moved on to Premiere CS6 and Avid MC6 for now until Apple can come out with a stable release and by then it may be too late.

I can confirm that it runs great! I have a Mac 1,1 with 8GB Ram, AJA Kona 3, AMD 5770 Graphics card and Media Composer runs better than Final Cut Pro ever did. Its very responsive. I got an error when I first installed it telling me it would only work on a 64bit kernel, but I haven’t had any issues.

I haven’t had much luck exporting AAFs or OMFs without some sort of error.

I’m having issues with the updates as well. All the applications are closed and it seems to be stuck on ‘Currently Downloading’ except nothing is downloading. It is doing this on two computers. One computer has the beach ball and the other doesn’t but they are both hung up.

I tried. For starters it doesn’t seem you can just select a sequence and just export audio as an AAF. When I try to export an AAF I get a lot of errors saying the audio is associated with video. And it seems like it wants to export the entire project out as an AAF. Maybe Adobe can make it so that you just select your sequence and hit export AAF and it actually exports just the sequence.

I’m running CS6 and when I exported an AAF file out, my audio guy could not open it in ProTools. I tried exporting an OMF and the computer kept crashing. Just my 2 cents. I’ve given the same audio guy AAFs from Media Composer and he can open them fine.
