Before opening your Premiere project, add an “x” to the name of your proxy folder. Open your Premiere project, all of your media will be offline. Relink to the originals.

Then after all media is relinked, highlight all of your clips in a bin and control click and select “attach proxies.” Steer to your proxy folder and Premiere will attach all of the proxies if you created them correctly – all proxies MUST have the same audio channel configuration as your original media.

In camera audio playing out of sync in your Premiere indicates that there’s a problem with your Premiere setup.

I work extensively with Sony F7 footage and secondary audio and I have never run into a sync issue.

When you open your master media files in VLC or another player the audio is out of sync? If so, do you have any additional audio settings in your main computer preferences?

In order to select all channels of audio with a multi cam sequence in a master timeline you need to create your multi cam sequence with All Audio channels and mono both selected.

You don’t want to edit with any raw drone footage. Transcode all drone footage to an edit friendly codec- i.e., Cineform.

If you have a master drive with the proxies, add the letter x to the name of the proxy folder. Then open Premiere and it will trigger Premiere to relink the proxies.

If it actually works, the Auto reframe could be a huge improvement for those that need to make social media cuts.

  • I think Oliver’s idea of re-cutting the clips into a new timeline might be your best option. Create a new project and import all of the R3D files correctly through the media browser. Then re-create your original timeline in your new project. Obviously this is a pain in the ass on the front end but your workflow will be infinitely easier as you roundtrip to and from Resolve.

  • You need to create multicam clips with the five angles.

Is there audio recorded on all five angles? If so, highlight the five angles in a bin, control click and select “create multicam source sequence” and then select audio for syncing. If all syncs correctly you’ll end up with a multicam clip that you can use as a source clip in a timeline. Then map selecting multicam angles to your keyboard and you can easily switch angles in your timeline.

For more detail on this process, search out “creating multicam source sequences in Premiere” in a web search.

At $129, I hope the Digital Rebellion tool does a whole lot more than downgrade Premiere projects.

It may be too late for this situation but instead of a Blu Ray DVD, long videos with markers can be created on YouTube. Fewer and fewer people own a DVD player of any kind. YouTube is ubiquitous.
