    Hi,

It looks like you’ve installed and using our DEMO version of Calibrated{Q} XD Decode for Windows. The gray grid pattern is the DEMO watermark. To remove the watermark you’ll need to purchase a Software License:

    Hi,

    If I’m not mistaken:

422P@ML, MPEG2, I-Frame only, 30/40/50 MBit is also the specifications for Sony IMX NTSC/PAL 30/40/50 MBit – which can be exported out of FCP and Compressor as MOV files.

    Hope that helps!

    Cheers,

    Hi,

Yes, the full version of Calibrated{Q} MXF Import will read the files fine, but as long as the MXF files are in the proper P2 MXF Folder Structure then you still can use Log and Transfer in FCP if you want – you need to see which workflow is best/right for you and your students (editing natively MXF files or Log and Tranfer in FCP)

    Hi

if you have those watermarks then you must have our demo Calibrated{Q} DVCProHD Decode codec installed as those are the exact watermarks we put on dvcprohd footage.

    Cheers

    Hi Robert,

It looks like you installed our Calibrated{Q} DVCProHD Decode for OSX DEMO (that looks like the DEMO watermark), it’s not meant for computers with any version of FCP. The uninstall instructions are in the ReadMe in the /Applications/Calibrated/Doc folder but basically:

    1. Delete the Calibrated folder from the Applications directory
    2. Delete the CalibratedDVCProHDCodec.component from the /Library/QuickTime Directory (that’s the Library directory on the Main Harddrive NOT in the User Directory)
    3. Restart
    4. You’re done

    Cheers,

November 22, 2009 at 1:53 pm in reply to: Problems importing P2 files – MXF work around

    Hi Peter,

I think you just installed our free Calibrated MXF Spotlight plugin (that’s the PDF you mention) and are perhaps using Panasonic’s P2CMS software (which also has a MXF Importer). P2CMS will allow you to import Panasonic P2 MXF Files into FCP but without timecode or auto-joining audio MXF Files.

Our Calibrated MXF Spotlight plugin just makes spotlight MXF ‘aware’.

Calibrated{Q} MXF Import though is the component that would enable you to import P2 MXF files directly into FCP with timecode and auto-joining the P2 Video/Audio MXF Files. The DEMO limitation is only showing up to 30 seconds of media – otherwise it’s fully functional.

    Cheers,
    Greg

    Hi,

Did you install our DEMO software – Calibrated{Q} MXF Import or the DEMO software from MXF4MAC – we (and I think MXF4MAC) both have 30 second limitations in our DEMO versions.

If you dont want to pay for additional plugins – then you would have to use Log and Transfer. You could use P2CMS, but with P2CMS the separate video/audio mxf files are not auto-joined and I dont think P2CMS has timecode support when importing directly into FCP.

    Cheers,
    Greg
