[John Perez] “Is there somewhere I can temporarily park an event that I’ve edited but can’t use on the timeline at the moment, and so want to park it somewhere where I can retrieve it later?”

Hi John! Open another Instance of VP, and “park” it there.

July 12, 2019 at 3:35 am in reply to: AVI Files suddenly won’t load

[Diane Sosnoski] “Any one have any idea of how I can resolve this?”

Hi Diane. How much space do you have on your PC? Also, download the freebie MediaInfo and get the internal information of the AVI that doesn’t work and then the information of the AVI that does work.

Hi Rob! Sounds like VP is choking on DECODING. Get MediaInfo and bring what it says here.

July 9, 2019 at 7:22 pm in reply to: Vegas Pro 13 Not Rendering White Background?

[Jai Allen] “This isn’t a colour fil in vegas, i have saved a 1000×1000 white square and used that as the background, ………and it renders and condenses it without the white background.”

Hi Jai – I’m looking at your sample. Where are you expecting to see more White than what I’m looking at? I don’t understand.

  • [Jay Mitchell] “If any of this makes sense to someone, “

Well, hello stranger! How are you? And yes, I’ve read what you said and I’m currently applying some of my feeble brain cells to it.

To get some more, focussed, feedback, ask this over on the main MAGIX VegasPro site.

Good to hear from you though. ????

  • [Jake Griffiths] “But it looks so much smoother than what I ‘ve managed to achieve using position automation..”

Hi Jake! Which PA are you using? Any KeyFrame can have a variety types of interpolation. Not at PC right now, but Right or Left click on a KeyFrame and you should get a drop down menu for Hold, Smooth, Slow, Fast, Linear etc etc. Experiment with these to get the type of response you want.

[Hiran de SIlva] “But there’s one problem with this. Track Motion applies to the whole track – not just the clip. I expect to have several of these ‘call outs’ on one track and they could be anywhere on the canvas. “

Yes, yes indeed. OK, and this gets back to my idea of rendering an ALPHA channel Callout soooo you could reuse and reuse and so on, placing it where you’d want.

Only use Track Motion to purely Generate your Callout, remove the TM and then move on.

[Hiran de SIlva] “So ideally, I’d want to be applying the transition to a clip, rather than the whole track.”

This way you can Roll yer Own, but also reuse them!
