1] Don’t rely on VCL player seeing the 16×9 flag – always catches me out!
2] Have you matched your Project properties to your Media?
3] Check your Media Properties. Does it reveal a 16×9 value?
4] What do you see in the VEgas Preview? 16×9? I do when I have 16×9 media on timeline. And that WAS captured using the SONY VidCap s/w.
Try another player – MS Windows Media Player. That plays a 16×9 straight off the bat. I’d be querying VLC player rather than SONY VidCap.

Interesting . . .
I can confirm I can see Date/Time stamp on AVI from SD camera. But I don’t on MJPEG and MP4 files – and yet both of these formats HAVE D/T stamp in the Vegas Properties > General.
I’m wondering if this is NOT revealing in VP9e? Can you actually SEE the info under that column? Also, Vegas has never seen my DD-MM-YYY (Euro)format, it always sees it as MM-DD-YYYY(US) even though PC is set to Euro format.
But getting back to your quandary. I can sort on SD AVI files and have either the earliest or latest first using a sort.
You can also try the Right Click within the Project Media Folder Pane and try the “Search Media Bins”. In theory you could enter a Date/Time Stamp value and have your search come up with 1/6/2010. It You then have an option to save this BIN as say: 1/6/2010 – or whatever . .
But you have raised some interesting issues . .
Thanks

I’ve now used it 4 times in different projects and it has most certainly woken up a straightforward narrative – thanks Guys!

Doesn’t sound too good at all . .
You’ve tried the obvious, but try this too: Close Explorer Tab and reopen through: View > Explorer.

To confirm, Auto Ripple is working fine for me.

I believe I have replicated your treatment. However I can’t understand just what it is you are trying to achieve. What I will confirm is that Vegas is doing exactly what you are telling it to do, but that is little reassurance for your present predicament.
Could you say what it is you want in a different way, or better yet, provide a sample of what you ARE trying to achieve? Maybe somebody else here has an idea of what it is you are wishing to accomplish?
I’m trying . . honest!

I am having difficulty in imagining just what it is you have? Could you please post a screen grab of your Workspace?

Copy and then “Paste Attributes”. This will get your FXs and ALL your attribs from EventA to EventB. Be warned, this will also take any Pan/Crop adjustments you have made.
You can save your “Chain” of FXs as a Plugin Chain. This will then reside in your Plug-in Manager under Video FXs. I always start my saving with my Initials to determine which are what! The folder tree in Plug-in Manager suffers from senior moments – on a permanent basis. Meaning if you make Folders and are organised as you are offered to be, then don;t be surprised if the Folder is then collapsed – again.

1] What System specs are you running on?
2] When did you switch to Vista? Prior, during or after working on this Project?
3] Have you installed V6 on a newer machine? And have you registered your version of Vegas on this “new” machine?
4] Have you any larger format Stills in your Project?
5] Are you running any AntiVirus s/w?
6] What space is available on the Hard disc are you editing on? And is it your System drive that you are editing on?
7] Does your Project Settings reflect your Media you are using? If not, how? And what percentage of Media is non-system settings?
