Insert a Velocity Envelope. This will speed it up a further 300%. You can then render this out and repeat the process of Ctrl and the Velocity Envelope again. By this time we are well over the 1000% speeding-up. I’ve done Sped-up walks through London Streetscape the same way – marvellous!

An AVI is only a wrapper for what is inside it. Download the free utility G-Spot and drag your “avi” file onto it and it should tell you just what the “avi” has got inside. Once you’ve done that then get back here with your findings. You may very well not have the codec on your system to allow Vegas to recognise nor open it.

Y’know, it would be really neat if there was an “audit” of the proposed media, by Vegas, that would identify potential issues prior to render, or come to think about it, when I set up my Project?
Just ‘cos Vegas sells itself on the back of it being format agnostic (which is why I like it! I am not knocking it . . ) , doesn’t mean it shouldn’t/couldn’t also highlight just what isn’t potentially possible, with those same mixed formats? If it can produce this dump, then surely it could also deliver a more USER friendly way of presenting to that User just where the potential issues lie. Seems obvious to me? But that’s where I have a great advantage – I ain’t no programmer – and as such, I can come out with these ill-informed observations.
Sony could really take a load off their Support time if we were given the tools to audit our own Timelines. Too fanciful? Well, that’s me, that’s my own type of hard-wired format my brain works on.

Is this the “stuff” at around 23 >> 28 seconds? Sounds like wind on the camera mic. I wouldn’t class that as “motor” noise. Can you confirm what the sound – time IN and time OUT – that you want zapped? Then we’ll know just what we are referring to.
I have IzoRX and am willing to have a go at it.

Sounds like you have given Preview Focus to the Trimmer. Click the Preview Monitor in the Trimmer, and that should get you back your Timeline Preview.

Jack, I agree. If it is a make-over of previous particles then good for you Alan! It looks wonderful, and just what I’m after. Thank you.

You posted your reply just as I was sending my own . . .
Yeah – my mistake. I had thought you had already made Event overlaps. I guess you hadn’t? Which does lead me on to the thought that a “user” would expect Vegas to work in the transition timing, as of the original transition AND its X-fade timings. No, you DO have to setup your overlaps OR get one of the great scripts-GUIs to make overlap option automatic for you.
But if you are wanting Vegas to overlap when you do PEA a trannie X-Fade, then why not? Send this as a product request to SONY!
