Here’s a useful tutorial on how to use the Spyder3Pro John’s referring to:-

Can’t be done. I know it would be nice, but there you go.

Yes. I use this all day. However, are you wanting to do Colour Correction and Grading? If so you’ll need to add some more skills to understand the variables involved.

I have 2xLCDS plus a Pro CRT monitor for colour work. I notice I can get a magenta colour cast on my other main BRAVIA 42″ screen when corrected to my Pro monitor. But if I do the same correction to my workflow LCD I can correct-out the magenta.

This colour work on LCDs is not straightforward. But using a Flat LCD TV? No problem. And when you need a break – flick that switch to see Judge Judy!!!

John, I’ve had this on 32bit too. I’ve just lived with it and called it something else and it “works”. This too was with MOV files.

Well, this something that really excites me, creatively.

Are you referring to this approach?:

Try duplicating the Track and using one or two of the Compositing Blends to adjust the combined effect.

You could also experiment with the Colour Curves Fx – less or more contrast.

But basically it’s about getting a more saturated, shadow lightening.

Great question you’ve asked. And unfortunately, one that is not asked enough. It’s got me going!

When u get this, I get very critical of the Keyframe timeline and interrogate very carefully to ascertain if I had introduced any unnecessary K/Fs. I’m hoping you’ve got something similar.

    Steve?

“Does it stop in the same place each time?
Is your disk NTSC or FAT?”

NTSC = A US standard for video
    FAT = File Allocation Table

I’m guessing you’re meaning is the hard drive formatted as FAT32 or NTFS? In which case I’ve always listened to my betters in this and gone with formatting to NTFS to make use of the LARGER, single file, capture. However, and having used FAT32 years ago for capture, with the chaining of 4 minute files, this should also not be a problem here. It’s a brand new empty drive. No, and I’m no IT engineer here, this may be flagging up a bad sector on this brand new drive OR something flaky in the capture stream procedure. I’d be formatting to NTFS and be done.

Before you \”sell-on\” an issue to somebody else, make sure you haven\’t inadvertedly set the manual White Balance to something odd.

Canon has really excellent WB templates for tungsten or daylight or overcast and so on, and are acclaimed for their WB algorithms throughout the industry. Just confirm just what your Canon is actually doing for you first. No point getting rid of a tool when all that was needed was to reset something?
