John, your replies should be made ESSENTIAL reading at the top of ANY Video forum.
Somebody should really produce a “flow-diag” of the vagaries of Capture>>through to Delivery/Publication. And here, Publication means the Internet too.

I’ve had this. I’ve had/have this WITH Nested Projects too. It was/is a complete mess to discover and then consider a way forward with a mix of Vegas versions.
Why have different Vegas versions operating? Here’s a few: Needing to keep up with the transition from 32bit to 64bit has meant for me and others to be able to access 3rd Party plugs; not needing to have GPU accel on or off; transition from nested projects occurring in earlier versions . . . . .
This has been the most challenging times for a Vegas User who is NOT an IT professional but a simple Film and Edit guy like myself, who’s got clients wanting re-edits and re-working on what could be up to 2 year finished work.
It’s been tough. Really tough.
Just my 2 pennies worth.

Several places where we can Ungroup Video from Audio, but just for starters uncheck the Ungroup Icon on the Toolbar:-

Yes, from the change you make on the Timeline onwards throughout. Plus Any Events prior to this change, will be affected but you can confine the change by using a HOLD KF.

Make sure you’ve selected the Position Track in the Track Motion Timeline. Sounds like you haven’t selected it correctly.

Well, this is your call. What is it you want? From what you’ve said it might be wise to have your Photos on Track1 and your Video on Track2. You can combine Photos and Video on the same Track, and use TM, but it does require a lot of manipulation by you. There aren’t any “rules” about this, it really does depend on how much extra work you want to do. I leave Photos on the same track if they are full frame and I just want to fade from one to the other and then get back to the video. But really, it’s your call.

OK, I got it:-
1/- You haven’t used Pan/Crop, because I can’t see any lit control in Pan/Crop control of that Event. But I can see Table Mountain in the Background!
2/- But you have got Track Motion active.
Look closely at the Track Header for Track 2. In it you can see a Diamond Shape on the Far Left, with a tiny little Down Arrow. Click on that and you will reveal a “Position” control for ANY media within that Track 2.
So, what you have is a Pan/Crop in that first Event – I can see it, it is lit – and secondly you have a Position active in Track Header. Once you click on that Track KeyFrame “diamond” you’ll get to the Controls and you can reset.
The issue that you’ve created for yourself is a Pan/Crop in Event1 combined with a Track Motion Position.
