Ron, I’m shaking my VHS brain cell awake.

We can’t control the stream that gets going through your Pas Thru’. Setup. So, I had to start the VHS tape until I could see it on my screen then go capture.

OK, it would be good to use VegasSpeak:

Files in the Project Media are referenced as MEDIA

Media when place on the Timeline are called EVENTS.

Now, if Media 1 thru Media 3 need to have FX1 then you can add this FX at the MEDIA Level, and wherever Events beloning to Media 1 thru Media 3 will have FX1.

Generally called “Film Damage” or “Light Leaks” or something similar, these FXs are bought-in FXs and can be greatly effective. If you want to roll yer own, then Compositing these from the existing VP Fxs, if not straightforward, are hugely educative. Nowadays I use stuff from NewBlue, RedGiant or, then, Sapphire Edge.

Yeah, I’ve got this at the front end. Do make sure you’ve got Qunatize to Frames ON and your Event finishes/starts on an exact Event edge. Try it, it might help.
