You can control the slope of the transition by adding more points. Then moving those points to create whatever slope/fade you need, whether that be sharp, stepped, or long and drawn out.

Is that what you are asking, or are you asking about some default setting to make all future edits the same?

Yes, I was looking for a default setting that might be changed. It’s no big deal but thought if it could be changed it would same me some time.

You can right-click on any point on the Volume Envelope and change the fade type.

I never noticed the “fade type” before. Thanks for pointing that out.
I guess there is not a way to change the “slope” of the fade other than grabbing it and putting it out. I’ve got music with lots of intermittent voice overs and I thought there might be a way to change the slope default.

Hi,

there can be a workaround, you can try if it works for you.
Simply ungroup and split the audio, change the level, and do a crossfade.
The length of the crossfade will be the “slope” if I understand right what you need.

Here’s a quick example what I mean:

Not so flexible as the volume envelope, but if it’s only about to temporary lower the volume of the speach/music it’s quite quick and comfortable to do so 🙂

That’s a very clever workaround. I’d just have to careful if I eliminated an event not to cut the music short.
