Sorry…trying to figure out your screen shot… are you asking people in the Avid Forum why Premiere isn’t liking your red cine x transcodes?

Just because you made DNXHD clips, doesn’t make it an Avid issue, if i’m reading this correctly.

typically Avid is pretty good.

If you have an MC2020, i’m assuming it is beta software, since i’m pretty sure 2019.12 is the current release, so the only way you are going to know is to try a test.

If you want to Renate it out, I would consider two font nodes…one for title, one for position. You’ve discovered the issue with character level styles…the work around us to select all the characters and change the style away from, and then back to the style you want.

For a simple 2 liner..I would use two nodes..(maybe group everything but the text plus nodes)…and make a macro out if it. With inputs and outputs available.

My folders have always been organized by projects, not by software. Since many projects will cross over many pieces of software, it becomes ugly passing items around.

Based on projects, anyone knows where to go to look for items based on the piece they are working on.

Some items within those projects folders are;
Audio in
Audio out
Camera Raw
TC Burns
Approvals
Graphic Elements
Lists
Notes
Scripts

It could certainly be considered a “style” thing to deviate , but typically… 0 is there for a reason. Your darkest blacks would typically be at or just kiss 0.

The impression of deeper blacks can be achieved by lowering other areas in a curve or just even your mids down…but going too far can really bugger up some images….unless that is the “style” you are looking for…in which case you may want to turn off broadcast safe, or you will just clip everything anyway.

If this is for broadcast…0 is the guideline

Well the issue is you can’t link to just some of the items in the clip…most (if not all programs are going to work this way), so yes, at some point you have to tell Avid what you want to keep.

Selecting all the clips, and pressing autosequence…then deleting the audio tracks before transcodeing should take you all of an extra 10-20 seconds per sequence.

The other option of unlink, modify and relink takes longer, and you would still have the audio media on your box…it just woundn’t be visible. You would then have to go to your media folder and delete all the audio if you really wanted to clean it up further.

the pre transcode sequence is a much easier method.

you have to ensure your transcoded/consolidated media is in the proper avid structure on that hard drive.
Since it is avid media, it has to maintain the Avid MediaFiles/MFX/yourmedia structure. (spelling and capitalization is important on those first 2 folders.) This structure has to be in the root of your new drive….not inside another folder.

I would assume the yourmedia folder already has a database in it from when you transcoded the footage. If that has become corrupt, you would have to change the folder name to a number, to allow Avid to re-index it. Once the indexing is done, you can rename it back to whatever you want.

I would also suggest you determine a method of hiding your other avid media from the system while you check this archive. I usually temporarily rename my normal Avid MediaFiles folders to XAvid MediaFiles. This will prevent Avid from looking in there.
(you could also rename the /MXF folder to /MXXF and once again Avid will ignore it.

Well if the program wasn’t edited by you, and the client wants to make a change…in this scenario, i would suggest you tell the editor to make the change and update your list and media.

That is not uncommon at all. You are coloring a show, and they make some changes.
Tell the client
“Once the editor updates everything, i’ll incorporate it into the program.”

your other option would be to ask the editor for an aaf with embedded audio, but that would cause a lot more audio work on your part.

Asking a mixdown/output of someone elses media to be able to revert back is a pretty big “wishful thinking”

Information like that does not travel with an outputed master file.
