call back original audio!
Greetings.
I have a timeline with about 400 video clips and just one master mixdown of the audio. I was wandering how I could bring back my original sound of all the clips in the most easy manner.
In other words, the film needs to go through a new mix, so I have to revert to the original audio of each individual clip. Does anyone have an idea? (preferably not too laborious:))

PS. I’m obviously looking for something less laborious than hitting match frame for each of the 400 clips 🙂

This is why you always duplicate your timeline before making a drastic change….like deleting all you source audio clips.
I’m not sure.what you really expect the solution to be other than match frame and rebuild if you don’t have backups or archives.
If you managed to export an old list to send to sound, you could import that, but basically it sounds like you have just learned a valuable lesson.

PS. This would be a nice function by the way, to be able to call back audio from original file.

Well if the program wasn’t edited by you, and the client wants to make a change…in this scenario, i would suggest you tell the editor to make the change and update your list and media.
That is not uncommon at all. You are coloring a show, and they make some changes.
Tell the client
“Once the editor updates everything, i’ll incorporate it into the program.”your other option would be to ask the editor for an aaf with embedded audio, but that would cause a lot more audio work on your part.
Asking a mixdown/output of someone elses media to be able to revert back is a pretty big “wishful thinking”
Information like that does not travel with an outputed master file.
