This is why you always duplicate your timeline before making a drastic change….like deleting all you source audio clips.

I’m not sure.what you really expect the solution to be other than match frame and rebuild if you don’t have backups or archives.

If you managed to export an old list to send to sound, you could import that, but basically it sounds like you have just learned a valuable lesson.

I do seem to remember an issue in earlier Resolve versions where you had to push the “AVID AAF” preset everytime you did an output as well.
If you had two sequences you wanted to output, and pressed Avid AAF for the first one, output it, and then left your settings alone, and called up another sequence, or added multple timelines to the delivery page before a batch output, if you didn’t hit that button for each timeline, you wouldn’t get the aaf file…just the rendered media.

I dont’ use this workflow anymore, so i’m not sure if that has since been fixed, or what versions it used to happen in.

So Avid….when can we expect this to actually happen?

Is it really that hard to implement another codec (which already exists on your Mac version)?

Build it into a nicer white background…don’t worry about the interference with the purple

Then above that key the purple back in

Above that a loose animate around the head.

That purple shirt should key back in rather easily, so you can be pretty liberal to get the BG white.

Relinking can be a challenge.

It would be really really nuceifAvid would allow us to select a range of shots and say” here is the new path”…but that just isn’t the case.

Relinking to files used to do this …kind of…you could select 1 file. Repoint it, and Avid would reconnect files in the same path, but that option only works with certain types of media, an I honestly don’t think I’ve seen it not “greyed out” for a long time.

My recommendation is usually to just create a new bin and do fresh links in that bin. Avid will usually see those links and connect your media on the timeline.

If not, then you can look at the Reconnect o selected clips in open bins” method

Have you added bars to any of your outputs?

Put bars on the outputs at each stage and it will help you figure out where yor colour is slipping.

This is the reason i still do all my audio syncing in Avid…(after transcodeing for speed issues) in resolve).

The last thing i need is the sound house yelling at me and having to re-edit the audio to make a proper list.

Well, someone has to be the first…i guess its me.

After as much research as i could find on this device, which wasn’t much…the product manager at Avid did mention in one post that this was designed to replace the transport and the Avid Artist control, both of which i have. As I mentioned originally, i’m trying to minimize the desktop footprint of those two devices. (i’ve already put my artist colour into a box in storage, in favour of the Resolve mini panel)

To give the backstory, i have owned the transport, colour and control for many many years. I think I got the transport and colour in 2011 or 2012

I love the transport…to the point where i’m lost if my box flakes out and eucontrol crashes. I pretty much have to stop and get it going again.

The Artist contol is also fantastic, but i’ve switched to a series of StreamDecks for much of what it did as far as touch screen and keystroke buttons…but what I miss is the solo/mute function, and the ability to just reach over and lower the levels on a track with a slider.

The protools dock gives it all back to me. I’ve only played with it for a couple of hours so far, but all the functionality of the transport and the control are there, and working in Avid.

It is a bit larger than I thought it would be…maybe the transport plus another 2/3rds?, but certainly smaller than the control, and way smaller than the combo of the two.

Combine it with a streamdeck XL and two “normal’ stream decks, and my mouse use and keyboard use are cut down dramatically.

The ipad aspect of the dock seems really nice. I’m using an old Ipad that has been sitting on a shelf for a few years…and it was used when I bought it, so it doesn’t have to be a brand new model.

The sliders seem quite responsive if using the IPAD, or you can select a channel, and use the hardware fader on the dock itself.

And of course, tons of programmable buttons to serve almost any purpose you can imagine.

i’ll have to reprogram my muscle memory, but so far, i am quite happy with the item.

I would guess your source browser is set to import …not link.

You have the option of either method from that window.

Make sure you have link set.

You can also “alt” drag from your explorer window directly into a bin. (windows)

I think it is option on a mac…but not positive. If you get creating….then you’ve used the wrong button. 🙂
