    Thanks Ann,

I didnt mention it in this clip but 90% of the footage is the 1080i footage with only about 25 seconds of a 19 minute video being the SD footage. I know its going to look rubbish, but in the end i though to go with the most used. Its for an amateur wedding video however ive learnt my leson and next time ill be using a canon to shoot in 1280×720 as well as the Sony (1080i) and a Canon 5D for the Full HD shots!!! (Stupid jvc)

Ill ahve a look at link, cheers

However, you might have accidentally used the wrongs settings and made a video that contains the interlace artifacts.
What kind of settings should i check for? Interlacing etc?

Try playing the DVD in a normal hardware DVD player and TV. If you still see these lines then you need to re-render your video with the correct settings.
I do get them on a tv with normal dvd player… but what are the correct settings i should try using?

You should be rendering from your 1440×1080 HDV project directly to the DVD format using the DVD Architect Video Stream preset under the Mainconcept MPEG2 render format in Vegas. Don’t do an intermediate 1280×720 render because that just takes extra time and the quality suffers.”
Im going straight from my project which is 1280×720 (not 1440×1080) to the above mentioned mpg2 format. SHould i try changing my project to 1440 then retrying? Im not rendering twice, its just my project is not 1440×1080.. perhaps thats the issue?

    Thanks nigel for your input.

Im currently making it in 1440×1080 with only 2 or 3 shots in JVC camera and all are tripod-no camera movemtn. Ive got to play with the colour as its SHOCKING but they are imperative shots so i cant do without.

I wouldlove matching DSLRs or something but im just amatuer!! 🙁

    Thanks again for the input!

  • also, just checking, which version of QT are u using.

Im still on 7.6.2 andd the issue is so intermittent. One second they will work, next second all the time line ones are black… Next second i can see the again.

I updated to most recent and they all went black, no luck… but maybe somewhere between 7.6.2 adn current version there is a compatible version

  • ok weird.

Ive started another project and it works fine…

howevre my old project still has blue only!! No IDEA!! wttttttt

dunno where to go from now…

I dont want to start working on a project.. get half way and it all go black and start again!!! what should i do!

SHould i just export all to another format using… premiere or somthing?

or is there a BULK export program?

I ahve about 50 MOV files in library but only 4 in the timeline.

Im also using Sony MTS files in same timeline.

Also.. my IOSURROGATE seems to keep freezing >(

Perhaps i ahve too much stuff in my library and i should move to using something like Premiere 🙁 ??

    hmmm ok

so ill try doing a playback then take a screen shot then post it…

i think thats my best option!!

    (5 mins later)
Found an example. It shows the lines on grooms jacket. This is the best example i could get easily, but it always occurs when there is large horizontal panning by me

wow so actually i found that a quicktime update had occured by auto.

Apparently anything later than 7.6.2 makes MOV stop working!!!!

So if pplz are reading this… back date ur QT and it works fine..

Just did it and its all working. weird!
