    Yes, right.

Guess I’ll stay with Mojave for the time being. The (last) customer I work for at the moment will stop next year. Then I won’t need that much power anymore and might install R18 on the older iMac on my desk and keep it there. Thanks for the feedback.

No, Chris, I skipped Catalina. Stil working under Mojave.

Didn’t need the new stuff, so I thought “never change a winning team”.

Done that over the years, saved me a lot of time and trouble.

But now I want Big Sur because my iPhone and iPad are running “out of sync”.

    Thanks Allan,

That’s always the official statement of Maxon, but (most of the time) that means “older versions of C4D are not supported anymore”.

In the meantime they often still work (is my experience).

I’m happy with R18 because I only need C4D every now and then. However, upgrading to Big Sur and finding out it doesn’t work anymore would mean a lot of trouble (or costs).

    Too bad, didn’t work.

    Well, thanks anyway, Brian.
Other apps. behave like they “should”; only C4D is having problems.

I guess I have to live with it.

Sounded reasonable, but didn’t get me where I wanted.
Other apps with multiple windows/menus open, act “normal” with the same prefs.

Yes, I think so. I had to buy a special connector.
The connection on the old iMac is missing on the new one and vice versa.

    No, I tested it.
When the channel (alpha in my case) is not active, you won’t get any error msg on a local rendering cmd.
Only when textures are missing in active channels.

Thanks for the explanation; sounds reasonable.
I’ll do some experimenting with that.
