DVDShrink will let you burn an IMAGE to your hard drive, and also let you give it a volume name…

Then you would just need to burn the DVD Image to disc…

btw, which version of DVD Architect are you using (Studio or Full)? I thought the FULL version allows you to burn the volume name in the “Make DVD” step…

This process can work with some software players as long as you use the arrow-navigation buttons (i.e. instead of using the mouse-over pointer — use the left/right/up/down arrows to navigate the menu).

Rt-click on an existing button for a Title, then Paste it to the menu. You can then edit the timeline for that button.

You can also define a “Playlist” that can playback certain chapters in a different order than in the original Title.

July 12, 2006 at 12:04 am in reply to: DVD Rollover Button

Are the buttons going to be shapes, or actual text/words?

You can fake a “rollover” effect — but it’s nothing like you can do in web pages…

If you just want brackets, make the button link be text only, and add the brackets as WHITE text (also insert a separate text box between the brackets for the button description — like Button 1, Play All, etc…).

Change the HIGHLIGHT STYLE to “Mask Overlay” (instead of rectangle).

Then modify the Color Sets so that the Selected state uses a fill color with opacity to show the White brackets when you navigate to the button.

Are the pictures the same, or are they completely different pictures? When I say the “same”, I mean one might be “Sepia”, and the other Full Color — but the actual content/pic is the same…

June 20, 2006 at 6:35 pm in reply to: Which encoder to use?

What are the attributes of your encoded videos? mpeg-1 or mpeg-2, resolution, bitrate, framerate, NTSC or PAL, etc…

    Regards,
    George

  • The problem with doing them separately is that the bitrate calculator has no idea about additional videos, so it will give you an optimum bitrate based only on the current video duration (plus audio tracks).

How long are your two video clips? Bitrate might not be an issue if they are short enough. If one is more important than the other, then you can certainly use a higher bitrate on the important clip, and a lower bitrate on the other…

  • It does work, but you have to apply Update Patch “6.0C” (or later) in order for it to import from DVD
