You can use photoshop too. But download the title templates and you will be okay

  • Use the Perspective filter. The Bevel Edges is cool and make it .03 or 0.05 use the drop shadows. You can use Transform filter too. My fav is edge feather. Plat with this 2 and see if that is what you like

  • Get an average system like an i7-920 with 8gb RAM on a low end ASUS board or Gigabit and 1tb and 1+1 hd raid. The differnce in the i7’s are not much when editing. We have an Expensive i7 970 with 24gb Rampage Extreme 3; a 960 with 12gb Rampage 2 and a i7 -920 with 6gb on ASUS Sabertooth. The difference is power is nothing big because the Computers are too big for the software and the processors hardly max out. You spend 1,000 upgrade and gain 5-10%

Using a GTX590 with 1024cores with a blackmagic card will be great so I am trying that option

With over 3000cuda cores this card will dwarf all other cards but will it be a Mercury Playback Engine card, The MPE list stopped at 580 for the Geforce.

The 875 is at least a 25% increase and hyper threading too so you get 8pros to help in rendering. You can even get a second system and leave the machine to render whiles working on the other machine and endure the freezes and crashes until you can get a 2600k system for around 1500.00

The i5 will struggle even with 24gb ram. Get Core i7 with the at least the old 950 or the next Gen 2600 and you will see a big difference. I have 970 and a 960 and the software is as stable as the table that the PC is sitting on

The old Premiere 6 and 6.5 does it better. The 2 track a-b roll makes it clean and neat

February 7, 2012 at 8:10 am in reply to: 12-core Mac Pro – Nvidia or RAM

It looks like the original question is lost in discussion. I have the same problem and had hope for an answer that fits. I moved to
a 12core and I see only about 5% increase. Premiere does not even use all the CPU power and is at 16-20%. The different between the 8 cores and 12core is just the cost and I am yet to see otherwise.

Is there a way to optimise the full potential of the Computers power
or is it a waste of money getting 32gb Ram and a 12core only to have the ram at 8gb and Processors at 20%?

Looks like the card is ruined. I stopped the firmware update as I was running dual boot. Stopping the update fried the card
