April 29, 2012 at 2:16 pmI guess I’m behind the times in the GPU world. I’ve always been under the impression that the Quadro line was considered the powerhouse GPU, better suited for editing and such. I have the Quadro 4000 as you do Tom. Is the Quadro line losing favor to this new GeForce line?
I remember just a few years ago that we were cautioned against a card that was advertised for ‘gaming’ being used in editing, because the GPU demands for each platform were radically different. Now I read the new GeForce descriptions, and I see ‘gaming’ several times.

April 29, 2012 at 3:36 pmActually, the thread title was supposed to have a question mark at the end. Thats what I get for typing before coffee.
Until this unit is tested with CS6, Im hopeful but wont speculate.

April 29, 2012 at 11:57 pmI could be wrong, but this card uses SLI tech on-board to enable both GPUs. Adobe doesn’t support SLI, instead opting for the Maximus approach to enabling multiple boards. So, not sure if this will work any better than a 580. Same scenario with Resolve.

April 30, 2012 at 5:31 pmWith over 3000cuda cores this card will dwarf all other cards but will it be a Mercury Playback Engine card, The MPE list stopped at 580 for the Geforce.

May 1, 2012 at 9:14 pmUsing a GTX590 with 1024cores with a blackmagic card will be great so I am trying that option
